NIKKI BOHM is an established multilingual Director, Writer and Producer- ARTIST AUTEUR, born in Zagreb, Croatia and raised in Vancouver, Canada. She currently resides in Los Angeles.
Nikki wrote, directed and produced avant-garde auteur horror films, “Ira” an Official Selection in the 51st Sitges Internacional Festival de Cinema Fantastic de Catalunya, "Masho's Descent" an Official Selection at The Garden City International Film Festival in Bangalore India, 2017, experimental film “Grief” featuring dancer Pavle Heidler, her upcoming feature film "Armadillo" and her debut Pilot for Comedy TV-Series "The Bentley Timeshare" including writing, producing and starring in her debut film “Nothing Happened” an experimental short about domestic abuse alongside prominent Argentinian actor Francisco Ovalle, which premiered at the prestigious Muestra Audio Visual Cine Sinú Film Festival in Montería, Cordoba, Colombia. Inspired by European experimental filmmaking, American 1980’s horror cinema and Latin American film realism, Nikki creates unique cinematic work with macabre themes, mixing avant-garde with horror and fantasy genres, setting her characters and subjects in realistic voyeurism, while visually exploring how choice, consequence and error can have an important and often detrimental effect on people’s lives and their psyche |
In 2012, Nikki co-founded Crystal Pantera Productions, a unique International Production Company which develops, produces and supports arthouse and avant-garde independant genre films and Television working alongisde her prominent Producing Partners Francisco Ovalle and Daniel Sollinger. At Crystal Pantera Productions Nikki developed several of her own and others projects, wrote, directed and produced multiple films and TV Series including co-writing, producing and starring in Mauricio Hoyos' Arthouse Horror Feature Film "The Painting" , producing, developing and starring in Francisco Ovalle's directorial debut "Nidorina" (Official Selection - Film Maudit 2.0 Festival), wrote, directed and produced surreal sci-fi drama "Astronaut Fred" and most recently, independantly produced Patrick Kenelly's psycho thriller film "Hammurabi" (Official Selection Brooklyn Film Festival).
In 2014, Nikki directed the world premiere of socio-polictical theater drama “I Want To Kill Lena Dunham” written by Sergio Castillo, which opened at the Avery Schreiber Theater in Los Angeles for a 6-week run.
Nikki served as an Official Judge and panelist at the Montgomery International Film Festival 2019, at the 12th Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival (LABRFF) 2019 and at Film Maudit 2.0 Film Festival 2019. In 2020, Nikki has been invited back as a lead programmer and judge for the 2020 Film Maudit 2.0 Film Festival and as lead curator and panelist at the 13th Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival (LABRFF).
In 2019 Nikki was Curator for the Official Selection of films at the 13th Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival LABRFF and Associate Programmer for the Official Selection of films for the counter-cinema Film Maudit 2.0 Film Festival alongside Festival Director Patrick Kennelly.
Eager to inspire and help fellow filmmakers with her vast knowledge and experience in the film industry, Nikki worked as a Casting Director on award nominated short film "Bug" starring Hassan Johnson (The Wire), personally cast celebrity actor Dean Winters (OZ, Law and Order SVU) in short film “Memoire” and was the associate producer responsible for personally casting celebrity actor Mark Moses (Desperate Housewives, Mad Men) in award nominated short “The Tsarevich”.
Besides native English and Croatian, Nikki is also fluent in German, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish.
