NIKKI BOHM is an established multilingual Director, Writer and Producer- ARTIST AUTEUR, born in Zagreb, Croatia and raised in Vancouver, Canada. She currently resides in Los Angeles. Nikki wrote and directed short experimental films, “Ira” an Official Selection in the 51st Sitges Internacional Festival de Cinema Fantastic de Catalunya, "Masho's Descent" an Official Selection at the Garden City International Film Festival in Bangalore India, 2017 and “Grief” currently in post-production, a Sizzle Trailer for her upcoming Feature Film "Armadillo" and her debut Pilot for her Comedy TV-Series "The Bentley Timeshare". In 2014, Nikki directed her debut theater play “I want to Kill Lena Dunham” written by Sergio Castillo, which premiered at the Avery Schreiber Theater in Los Angeles. Nikki’s passion for writing and directing came with her debut script “Nothing Happened” a short experimental film about domestic abuse written and produced by Nikki Bohm and starring Francisco Ovalle, which premiered at the prestigious film festival Muestra Audio Visual Cine Sinu in Monteria, Cordoba, Colombia. |
Inspired by European Experimental film-making, American 1980’s cinema as well as Latin American film, Nikki strives to create cinematic work that visually explores how choice, consequence and error can have an important effect on people’s lives and the world around us.
Nikki served as an Official Judge and panelist at the Montgomery International Film Festival 2019, at the 12th Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival (LABRFF) 2019 and at Film Maudit 2.0 Film Festival 2019. In 2020, Nikki has been invited back as a lead programmer and judge for the 2020 Film Maudit 2.0 Film Festival and as lead curator and panelist at the 13th Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival (LABRFF).
In 2019, Nikki was a Producer on Psycho Thriller "Hammurabi" directed by the Patrick Kennelly and written/starring Bethany Orr. "Hammurabi" world premiered at Brooklyn Film Festival and was Officially Selected at: Fright Fest, Cinequest, Dances With Films, Screamfest, Woods Hole Film Festival, Horrible Imaginings Film Festival 2020.
Most recently, Nikki was Curator for the Official Selection of films at the 13th Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival LABRFF and is gearing up to Program the Official Selection of films for the counter-cinema Film Maudit 2.0 Film Festival alongside Festival Director Patrick Kennelly.
Nikki is also a well respected Casting Director with professional casting experience on various films such as multiple award nominated short film "Bug" starring Hassan Johnson (The Wire), "Milena" and the "The Choice of Life". Her most recent projects include the personal casting of celebrity actor Dean Winters (OZ, Law and Order SVU) in short film “Memoire” as well as celebrity actor Mark Moses (Desperate Housewives, Mad Men) in “The Tsarevich”.
Besides English and Croatian, Nikki is also fluent in German and Brazilian Portuguese.
